I'm interested in a RV that has (3) hydraulic slideouts. The owner says all three operate on one switch with no pre-determined sequence. Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with this type system and what your thoughts are compared to electric slides. Your response is greatly appreciated.

I have hydraulic slides on my unit and they work well. No issues so far. Mine are bedroom, entertainment and dinette slides. Bedroom seems to first out first in followed by entertainment then dinette. My rig also has hydraulic landing gear and was factory prepped for leveling.My previous unit had electric and it worked well also.

I would prefer to not have a) hydraulic slides b) slides that won't work independently.Having them work independently is important to me, especially in tight situations where you may not be able to extend one. Or you may just prefer to not extend them all. Or, you're caught in a big windstorm and one of them is lifting and allowing the weather in.

Our sequence is B/r,L/r,and dinette. Any of which can be shut of by an accessible hydraulic control valve if I don't want one to open due to space.. As for speed, about the same as my old electric, not much difference.

Hydraulics are great. There is generally a selector valve bank offered as an option. Well worth getting it. Personally I prefer hydraulics over under powered electric motors

I would prefer to not have
a) hydraulic slides
b) slides that won't work independently.

Having them work independently is important to me, especially in tight situations where you may not be able to extend one. Or you may just prefer to not extend them all. Or, you're caught in a big windstorm and one of them is lifting and allowing the weather in.

x2, on my motorhome I did not extend the living room one if just for an overnighter, as I checked it out with the slide in before ordering one.

Individual control to select exactly which side is moving is on mine. Many times I just put out 1 slide when stopping for a quick lunch. I would not want something that I could not control exactly which one and when.

I have the same thing you are describing. Never had a problem with them yet. I would prefer to be able to open them individually but it's not that big of a deal. I've never been anyplace where that was necessary. Much prefer these over some of the new light weight systems they use.

I have 3 hydraulic slides that I can operate individually by opening or closing a valve. When packing I just open the Bedroom slide so we can pack our clothes. Everything else can be accessed with the other two closed. I would double check and make sure the camper does not have a valve system. My hydraulic slides are much faster and smoother than my old camper with electric slides.

as I recall, the same hydraulic mechanism that worked the slides, also worked the levelers.

Only problem with mine so far was the leaky tank. I seem to have that under control now. Mine has a single switch inside the door that operates all three slides. If I should want to operate them individually I can just go outside to the door where the pump is at and close the valves that I dont want to run. There is also a switch in there to run the system.
