I will definitely avoid Lippert frames in the future. I'm actually getting ready to do a little Googling to make sure Lakota doesn't use Lippert. If it does, that "good deal" I was looking at isn't such a good deal after all. It's really hard to have faith in this unit (and frame brand) after having so much happen in so little easy miles.
I blame the mfrs almost as much as Lippert, simply for not doing their own QC on the bare, incoming frames. From some of the pics people have posted over the past few years, a legally blind person could find the lousy welds and plain missing welds and gussets and braces. If the mfrs would make sure that the frames are built to specs and flat-out reject those that don't meet 'em, then Lippert might get a clue. I will admit that things seem to be better these days, though. My bet is that the number of frame failures was =much= higher than anyone knows and Lippert did get a clue and started building better frames. Just one more of the nasty secrets that the mfrs won't admit to, along with the total warranty work actually done and the total warranty claims filed and rejected.
