Can't speak for the weather as we went through there this last June and July with the 5vr in the signature below. had no issues to include Fancy Gap area but top speed was 65. Stayed at the Wytheville KOA just off of the interstate, easy to get to and a nice stay for the night. Probably the most interesting part of the trip but not quite white knuckle was the traffic and interstate change near Charleston but again, no issues. Not sure what you are using for a TV but the Duramax/Allison had me passing tractor-trailers going up hill (still top speed of 65 though). Add in possible snow and cold temps though...
