- GoPackGoExplorerYes, I've been a member of various credit unions since I was under 10 (church CU). But my CU could not give me a better deal then I got thru a bank. I even told them exactly what the bank was offering. And this CU is a very large one here in Florida that I've belonged to for about 15 years. I'm still a believer in CUs, but I will always comparison shop, especially since the Internet makes it so easy.

- PA12DRVRExplorerThen there's the old line about never financing a depreciating asset....
Nevertheless, if a CU that you're a member of can get a rate below 5%, and if you really have to have the RV, then you could probably finance and put your cash to work somewhere else. - JohnBoyTooExplorerRates have a lot of variables - primarily area of country and your credit rating...
but try Ally auto loans -
a bank and an auto loan, but 4.125% for 20 yrs is not bad I thought... - hitchupExplorerFor the last 2 years, we've been trying to reduce our 8.45% loan on current unit. We would see signs in our travels for CU loans of 4.37%. Finally I discovered the same FL CU we were using had finally lowered their rates in January.
We were able to refinance @4.99% a few months ago to do some upgrades. But then adding up the cost of upgrades, we decided to go new. Same CU approved our 10 yr loan @3.99%, so we put a 2014 on order. We could have gone 15 @4.99%, but we'd like to have it paid off in 5 from savings. - stro1965ExplorerI'm refinancing this afternoon. Current loan is through State Farm Bank at 4.78, new loan will be with my Credit Union at 3.5!

They do through State Farm Bank. Vehicles and RV's. Competitive terms and interest rates vs other commercial banks and credit unions. - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIHeard that State Farm does RV financing.
- 64thunderboltExplorer IIequity loan. I did this for the trailer & truck. Lower rate & deductable. When you go in and say I'll write a check things change. Also the dealers get a cut of the int rate so they wil do you no favors on financing. I have never bought new or used from a dealer. Better deals on private sales and you won't take the hit on depreciation when you drive away. And in Az no sales tax on private sales. Saves a lot of money.
