Impact of fuel prices on travel

We have a trip planned for later this month and into next month. 3000 miles. Cost considerations are serious enough, but probably still do-able. My biggest concern is supply. We were in Raleigh last year when that east coast pipeline got shut down by a hacker. People were panic-buying, and there were a couple days when I wondered if I'd be able to get home. That experience has me wondering if it's wise to travel this year. Heartbroken. But it's nothing compared to what our Ukranean brothers and sisters are going through.
