My lifestyle has always been to live below my income. We have saved all of our lives so that we can enjoy our retirement.
We are going on vacation for the month of April. This trip will be about 4000 miles. We get about 10 mpg while towing. If gas prices go to $5.00, we will spend $600 more on gas than we did two years ago on a similar length trip.
$600 will not cause me to cancel my trip. If I was that short of cash, I would get a part time job and travel anyway. Gas at $6, I still will go. I bet the crowds will be a lot smaller.
