Independet Suspension - Air Bags vs. Suspension Block

We are looking at installing independent suspension on our 5th.

The GVW of the trailer ranges from 12,000lbs - 15,000lbs.

The people at Timbren say that the ride and the ride height will not change with the weight.

Morryde is less expensive and doesn't need air but there is a history of it not being installed properly so it has to be done at the Morryde factory.

  • I can tell you that I have had the MORryde Independent Suspension on my last 2 fivers and it is the best system hands down... I would not thing twice to add it again to anything...

    Thank you for the response.

We learned today that by installing a bypass for leveling valve we can jack the Timbren system up 5"-6" which will help allot when we go off the pavement.

I love the Center Point Air Suspension. Just floats on air.

I had it on my 07.5 MS but it still is a shackle system and prone to wear. I now have the MORryde IS and there in no comparison between the two. The CenterPoint is for sure a good system but to choose between the two.
  • There is also the Timbrens Axle-less independent suspension system. Seems like a pretty interesting proposition with no air system to maintain. Kind of a similar approach as Mor-ryde takes with the rubber spring. However, I like the fact that the spring is directly over the arm. They also offer a 4" lift suspension as well on there. Don't have any experience with it, but it'd be interesting to see if anybody on here does. Just throwing this out there.
  • Check out some of the Aussie IS systems. Made for =real= offroad conditions...and U.S. freeways.

  • Mor/Ryde IS is the way to go. It makes for a much better ride .

  • I wouldn't use timbrens on anything unless you want to feel like your riding on an unsprung hay wagon!!
