There are differing opinions on this. I would consider the significant weight transfer while trailer towing and relying on dead scale weight at each tire is, in many peoples opinion, not sufficient for trailer towing considering the forces at play. Unfortunately, those forces are not easy to measure. I think it makes sense to inflate to max psi to get the most capacity out of your tire to allow for weight shifts while towing. In all my years of towing and inflating to max psi, I have never had uneven tire wear.

Oh yea...I use an electric campbell-hausfeld that is capable of 110 psi and always carry an inverter. I wouldn't want to go from 0 to 110 with it though. I think that the viair is a good looking product and may go that route when mine wears out.
