- MPI_MallardExplorerNot even Red would do something THAT stupid,,, this is defiantly "hillbilly engineering",,,,

, some mechanical ability, and neighbors who
mind their own business. - cohendanExplorerThanks for the insights. I've been planning to get a new hitch at 4wheelonline to tow an RV. I'm checking if fifth wheel hitch will do but it would be great to see more ideas and suggestions with regards to towing.
- bobsallyhExplorer IIYou guys need to revert back to the late 60's. There was a used car dealer/RV dealer on U.S. 30 in York, Penna. that sold setups like was first posted here. He had a Caddy with a 5th wheel hitch mounted on the deck lid with an Arabian fiver displayed in the front of the lot. I never actually saw one on the road. In that time period an Arabian fiver was absolutely beautiful. My wife and I were just starting out we sure couldn't afford one but made excellent conversation.
- HuntindogExplorerGood thing it has a slider hitch. Never seen one that was activated by loosening rachet straps before... I wonder if he has a patent on the idea.
- BeakerExplorerLooks like no squat on tires or suspension.
Wonder why the don't show the landing gear that's down? :) - dieseltruckdrivExplorer II

Clearance looks good but really should have put something down to avoid scratches on the trunk lid.
If you look carefully at the trunk, you can see where they put some kind of clear covering down over the trunk. It actually looks like one of those office chair mats. You can see the outline of the mat and also the reflection of the hitch. Don't think that reflection would show up otherwise given the condition of the rest of the paint on the car. They probably figured it would spread the load out a bit and make it workable! :R
I'm kinda surprised there is only one dude on the sidelines with his hand on his chin.
Barney - fj12ryderExplorer IIIJust shows that stupidity, not necessity, is the mother of invention.

- ArcamperExplorerThey at least had sense enough to put the rachet strap on it. Safety first!
