Here's another good way to find out:
Kill A Watt
Plug everything into a power strip and then plug the power strip into this device. Then when you switch on the power strip you'll see how much juice it uses at startup. You can experiment with the TV and the receiver separately too, to see if you need to turn them on one-at-a-time.
This little device is really handy. It's great for testing loads for inverters and it's a good way to see how much of a power hog any of your appliances are. It's also good for testing LED fixtures to measure the savings.
