Is a long bed a requirement for pulling a 5th wheel?

Looks like we're going to switch to a 5th wheel so I need to buy a truck. Do I need a long (8') bed or will a short (6'4") bed be sufficient. Im not worried about other cargo and the short bed would b...

So let me get this straight. The most important characteristic of a diesel engine, in your humble opinion, is that is sounds the most like an Otto-cycle (spark ignited) engine? :S Ummmm....okaaayyy - your money and your choice. :B
