Rode hard?
OK, so you have kids. Kids are just naturally destructive. At the end, both campers will end up loosing about equal value. But if they get demolished neither one will be worth the glue that hold them together.
You sound like it's a "given" there's going to be a mass destruction. So, what would you rather loose? A device that costs $80,000 or one that costs $35,000? After child destruction, both will resale about the same.
Now, normal wear and tear, kept clean, taken care of, items fixed immediately, no leaks, stains, paint and graphics still good, yea... you'll get about equal percentage from both at resale.
After 10 years, neither will have much value left though.
My opinion? If you have kids? get the lesser expensive one! Your wallet won't be crying so much when things get broken.
However, when buying any kind of RV, get the one that makes you happy and proud and that will serve YOU! If you are buying an RV to impress anyone, you are buying for the wrong reason. If you have nay-sayers in your family, you won't impress them, no matter WHAT you buy. Get what works for you, and if it works for YOU, then price is no object, not even a factor. It's all about what works for YOU! No one else matters.
