Don't know about the others, but GM certainly does make the distinction.

For example, for the 2015 Silverado 2500HD Double Cab Regular Box 2WD Diesel, the Maximum Conventional Trailer weight is 13,000lbs, while the Max Fifth Wheel Trailer weight is 17,600lbs.
