The problem is that the Winegard antenna will not rotate a full 360 degrees. There is a stop that prevents this.
Unfortunately you cannot turn the head around. When I installed my Winegard I positioned it so that it stows to the side instead of front to back. You should have no problem rotating the base. One possible issue might be where your coax is routed. Some installations rout the cable through stop on the base. This would mean pulling back the coax before rotating the base and drilling another hole for the new position.
