I added the kit that adds several elements to increase the gain. My winegard is no longer a dipole. The null I am referring to is not the null in the antenna pattern but in the incomplete ability to turn the antenna over the entire 360° of the circle.
When I park the rig and align it the way I would like as far as parking location, the antenna simply cannot be pointed in the direction that will give me the two stations I most want to watch.
If I don't park the rig parallel to the property line at the fence I can hit the stations I like, but the rig takes up more space in the yard. It's an unwelcome compromise.
By moving the dead spot several degrees to the south I can orient the rig where I want it and see the channels I want to watch.
I'm not convinced that the antenna head can't be flipped 180° on the mast relative to where it's currently pointing. I'm going to look at this tomorrow morning.
