A few days ago I posted on the subject of step support equipment.Today I received a personal message offering me a new step system if I would install and review it Does this mean that any time I post on any subject, I will be receiving a PM with offers to buy, review, etc. ?I could change my profile and delete my email address, but I don't want to. The occasional PM that I receive are welcome, but this one not so much

That's very rare. I've posted over a 3000 msgs here and have received one such offer. And when I got it I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to do.I'd guess that the appropriate section for a message like this might be the 'around the campfire' one.

I have 25k posts and never been approached. Nothing to be concerned about.

I would notify a moderator as to who you received it from and let them handle it. I have never received one.

Yes I received the same personal message. I went to their website, read about the product, and emailed them telling them I wasn't interested. The product looked pretty neat, but wasn't quite right for me. I don't understand the problem with what happened. If it would have been a product that would work for me, I would been happy for the free product with just telling everybody that it's good. I never felt the need to tell RV.net that there was a problem.

Over the years I have received offers due to posting on RV.NET via PMs

Some offers I have accepted.........really good company/good products
Others I have just deleted.......wasn't interested/couldn't use etc.

Didn't see it as an intrusion especially when I use a public forum

Received the same message. Can't figure out why that would upset you so much. With your email in your signature you take the chance of anyone on the forum emailing you. I've had members email me requesting further information of a subject I posted. Happy to respond and have a dialog with any forum member.
