I am sitting here off of Boone Rd. at Johnson Valley. We have been here since Monday. We had a huge area to ourselves. We expected we would have company. However, we have been encroached upon from all sides. We just had someone pull in late Friday night and pull within 8 feet of our group.
Now, there is no way that I would choose to camp that close to strangers. Why would someone else want to be that close to us? It is a huge desert. Why do people need to arrive late in the week and encroach upon others?
I know what you mean but do you realize how close 8 feet really is? Also, holiday weekend? Did the area get packed?
I do. We had a trailer parked in the circle. His wives car was parked outside the circle, maybe a couple feet away from the trailer. Then a strange trailer came in and parked within a couple feet of the car. Okay, maybe 10 feet away! I'm not kidding.
Oh, and here is the best part. It was 11:00 at night when they finally got situated in camp. So, what do you do next? You have to have a fire, right? So, at 11:15 at night they fire up a
CHAINSAW and start cutting wood! Never mind that the family in the trailer just 10 feet away went to bed early that night.
Look, I get it. Holiday weekend and all. But, this was just stupid! If you can overhear conversations in another rig, you are parked too close! It is a big desert!
