J.T. Strongarms....good/bad?

To those who have them, what do you think about the J.T.Strongarms? Are they worth the expense? How much do they help with stabilizing your 5th wheel?
  • I've only been inside one 5er that had them. That was a few years ago. But the camper was rock steady. I was greatly impressed. There were several people inside that camper and not a bit of shake at all. They take some time and effort to install, but once there, work pretty easy.
  • I do like them I got them used for $100 installed the front one and they work great. and the customer service is good, they are very helpful answering questions.
  • I guess I'm the odd man out. JT's came on the 5er I bought in 2011. I used them for 1.5 yrs and as far as I could tell there was no difference from my previous 5er that did not have them. For the past 3 years I have not used them (they are still mounted on the trailer but I do not tighten them up) and to me; there is no difference from when I did set them.
  • I run the Steadyfast which is a similar design but with three lock points and it works wonders on my 5er. Best $275 I have spent on the trailer so far.

Either of them are the single best mod for minimizing movement/sway.
  • Got a set JT's for Christmas and have the front part completed and will have read done in the next week. Quality has been really good and no issue so far. Front of unit is solid with no movement
  • Have had them for 7 years. Really do help a lot. Greatly reduces movement, especially when washer is in spin cycle. Used a tripod the first year. Sold it for $40. No comparison.
  • I don't have them but everybody I know that does, loves them!

  • I've had them sense 2008 on 30 ft fifth wheel didn't pay much attention to them . But we purchase a new fifth wheel this year 4 feet longer and have not put them on yet , but it sure needs them . I will be put them on as soon as get the chance. So IMHO yes they are worth it .
