when we turn on our AC it takes about four to five hours for it to cool down. Once it cools its cold. Is this normal for it to take so long or do I need to have the AC repaired. Memphis, TN

A few thing to consider, is this the only ac in the FW, and the ac will usually only bring the temp down about 20°. If the inside is real hot it will take a while for the temp to come down. All the furniture and walls are holding that heat. Do you notice the temperature dropping gradually over the 4-5 hours?
