JoyRide Suspension

I was wondering if anyone out there has a Reese JoyRide suspension assembly to help with improving their ride. My 5'ver has one on it and I don't know if it has been installed wrong or just doesn't work as advertised. Anybody have experience with it?

  • I read the article in Trailerlife about the joyride system. I checked into Joyride but I had issues with the price and installation due clearance on the inside of my frame rails. I work in a machine shop and installed Gas Magnums @ 20 degrees tilt on the outside of my frame rails . It was difficult. The main difference I noticed in the ride was Large bumps and bridge transitions . We would hit a bump and that was it. Before the shocks we would hit a bump continue bouncing around some more. I still was not completely satisfied and installed Bilstein 4600's and a tri glide jaw on our Trail Air hitch and now we finally have a decent ride on freeways. I know the ride is good because my wife is HAPPY.

I went the same route as Filrupmark for the most part.
Bilstien 5100's on the TV, Lippert Shock kits on the 5er, tow level.
The JotRide look just like rubber mounts for the springs, you need shocks to dampen the bounce not add to it.
