That's what I was afraid of in my first post.. It had the krap run out of it. Wonder how many timeS they floated the valves trying to get it out of the mud hole? If it was mine I would have prayed they never found it.
ummm, if the puter was working properly it is difficult to overrev the 7.3.
I have seen guys plant the large number 12 wide hoof on the go pedal and the motor just sat there and ran at the red line. :h
Here in AZ, the damned emissions requires that the engine be redlined 4 times; once to test the governor and 3 times in the test phase. Every time I go in I ask who pays for my new engine if I throw a rod to pass this state-required test. So far, no answer...
Lyle
If it throws a rod at red line your trouble is with the manufacturer, not the guy pressing the throttle.
And if you're out of warranty the answer is easy. You are.
You may as well quit asking. :)
Ah, but the thing is, there's only 2 counties in the state that require emissions testing, so that's unnecessary wear and tear on a vehicle that, if I lived 9 miles away, wouldn't have to go through. :-) Yes, I'm baiting them, but I'd still like to know the answer to my question.
Lyle
"Yes" on the quit asking - they don't care...:S
If it were me - the truck would have a new address in one of the "other" counties in the state that don't require testing- ASAP.
Not difficult to accomplish.
OP - sorry for the thread (and truck) hi-jack.
