Keeping A FW From Being Stolen

My TT was stolen about 9 months ago and I replaced it with a FW.
What do most of you do to lock it down?

I'm considering a wheel boot.
Also shutting off the batt to make it more effort and time consuming to raise/lower the landing gear.

Ah, the red Masterlock will work. I wasn't aware they existed.
I like the coated cable through the rims as well.

    Thanks for all the input.

FWIW: My TT was stolen from my driveway 100' from the street during the day while I was at work. We have a neighborhood watch program and the neighbors watched them steal it, as well as my so called watch dog :(
My neighbors thought I was letting somebody borrow it and my dog just stood there barking at a distance. Insurance will get their money back by raising premiums on everything. I shopped around to find out I'm now considered high risk because of 1 claim.

It's behind me now so time to move on while paying higher premiums
  • Rolling wheels are hard to steal . Keep her rolling down the road ! If you can't do that try the king pin lock , and OR take nylon coated cable and run it through your wheels with a large lock... Joe
  • I have a round locking metal sleeve(3-4 inches deep) that goes around the actual pin and locks in place. A thief would have to get it off the pin before they can hook up. Bought it at Camping World. A dog in the camper is another good preventative. Have been camping for years--all over, and have only heard of 1 other 5th wheel theft from a campground. But, sad to say, anything is possible and we live in a world where the possible is becoming more probable. Lars
  • If someone wants what you have they will figure out a way to get it. Insure it well and get a new one when it happens.
  • You can also wrap some chain around the king-pin and lock that.
  • Mine is sitting right in my yard thieves would have a heck of a time getting it out. If you're worried about it, take the batteries out all together. You could also put a secret switch in the landing gear circuit, mine already has one altho it's in plain sight I doubt anyone not familiar with Titaniums would figure out what it is. And change those crummy locks out on the basement doors, the ones that use the same key as every other RV in the world. (751 keys?)
  • Short of taking wheels off.........

    King Pin locking device.

Turning your battery disconnect off......screw driver pops open front compartment and switch gets turned back on.

  • I have a TT but have a boot, coupler lock, padlock through the handle, slides out and no battery. If they really want it they will still get it but I will slow them down. (also it is parked in my driveway 75' from the main road).
