The "pain"..:(
5th wheel (2006) had a two year warranty. Never needed - or used it.
However, recently the cable for the remote valve for the black tank kinked - and caused it to be non-op.
Major PITA to access - but easy to fix. Factory chose a poor "routing" for the cable, doomed to fail.
Same would apply to electric operated valves - no cable, but still a genuine PITA to access to replace or repair.
Might add - I was lucky!..;)
Could have been a really "nasty" (insert appropriate word here) situation!
Failed after the last time I opened the valve to dump - - then wouldn't close..:(
(Put my Valtera "back-up" valve on end of the sewer line)
Lesson learned - put manual pull (no cable or electric motor) black tank valve in final 3" sewer line run, for easy access for repair/change and fail-safe operation.......even if it means "doubling up". (the remote one can stay "open").
Mine has one now - and will be the first thing I add to any future RVs with remote valve/s.
Also - carry the "add-on" Valtera valve for your sewer connection.
Just might be the best $15 you ever spent!..:W
