Why can't they just produce a solid built rv? One that is backed by a warranty that truly means something. I'm not talking about appliances, etc. but an rv that doesn't leak.
Is that asking too much? Yes, I know some will say it's not possible because it moves and tweeks and twists. I'm not buying that.
Imagine buying a product and then having to make it work for you by doing DIY projects.
It just doesn't make sense. I think they get away with it because nobody pushes the issue. Rvers are very sensitive when it comes to defending their hobby.
In one keyboard character, the answer to your question is $.
For whatever reason the industry has just ended up where it has. Consumers are only willing to pay so much for a quickly depreciating toy and manufacturers can only deliver so much quality in a depreciating toy for that much hard earned $. So, we are where we are.
Thread after thread of internet forums fill with people complaining but the same people (statistically anyway) go and buy the crappy RVs (myself included).
I think in the whole grand scheme of things, with all the world's problems, there is little change likely to happen anytime soon. For the most part RVs are a completely frivolous purchase. Nobody with any power or authority cares too much about how people spend their discretionary income. There are much bigger and more important problems that need solving.
