we just replaced our converter because our battery kept boiling over. Now our receptacle breaker keeps blowing and we came home to a dead battery. So we got a new battery and flipped the receptacle breaker back on and it worked but when we woke up this morning our lights were dim and the battery percentage is at 1/3 and it was a brand new battery so our battery is not recharging or something is draining it. HELP!!
Start with a volt meter and make sure the charger (converter) is charging the system and how much it is putting back into the batteries on shore power. Then, check to see what the drain is on the batteries. There will be a small amount of power used to run the detectors and maybe the refrigerator with all else mostly shut off. If you are getting good charging at or around 14.2 +/- volts then look for excessive drain on the batteries. One by one eliminate the source of the drain. Often this can be done by pulling the fuse to that drain appliance.
