Having a 2008 Montana 3400RL , I find none of the problems you mentioned, it wasn't designed to have a lot of access with the slides in. We have access to the bathroom ,and the fridge. Not sure why one would need more when traveling until the slides were pulled out .
With that being said, the fifth wheel has been about as trouble free as you could ask. Bought new. At the present getting it ready to head out to Arizona , and get out of this snow. :)
Montana would be my first choice if ,and when we decide to get a new one.
