Kingpin lock

Did a search for Kingpin lock and King Pin Lock here and got no hits, so I'll just ask.

What pin locks are recommended? I don't feel especially comfortable with no deterrent on there. I also don't want something cheap, like the Reese ball hitch lock that anyone with a bar can snap off in seconds.

Conversely, I don't want to drop several hundred dollars on a lock that isn't worth that much.

Input appreciated. Thanks.
  • I’m part of the crowd that isn’t toooo concerned about it. Still, I do put a padlock on my EZ Chocks so it would take a “little” effort. If this was a serious concern, I think a ‘boot’ on one of the wheels would be best deterrent AND best real prevention.
  • the good things about the one that I posted...it keeps the greasy area covered and has a flag to help avoid walking or driving into the king pin.

I use the same one. With grandkids that run before looking it provides a warning to them more that I’m concerned about theft.
  • Personally, if I were =truly= concerned about theft, I'd have an alarm system and/or a hidden self-contained GPS unit on-board with cell capability to "call home".
