Kingpin stabilizer

I know it is not the area but didn't know where else to go. I have a Durango 5th wheel on order (used to have a Class A). With all the available kingpin stabilizers, is there a unanimous recommendation of one I should buy. I have looked at the videos--they all seem to have advantages. Help!
  • JT strongarms or equivalent. Anything less is a satellite antenna stand.
  • I want to thank all of you guys for responding so quick. I think the consensus is that most of you don't use them.
I have a KZ Durango 1500 ordered that is supposed to be suited for a half-ton truck. I just bought a 2014 Silverado with the towing package.
I guess I will try using it first before I worry about a kingpin support. I ordered the auto-levelers on the trailer because my Class A had it. I am new to the trailer life but not to RVing.
Thanks again for all of the help.

I have a two legged one, only because a friend gave it to me!

With so many of the trailers going to air and cushioned pin boxes they are going be gone from the market one of these days. If I got a new trailer I would opt for the 6 point leveling, Wiggle be Gone setup.

I have one and use most of the time. I think it helps, but also thinking of Strong arms.

  • First off, I have to say I've never used one. There has been lots of talk on this subject, if you do a search.

To try to help, I will say most don't recommend the king pin type, but rather a stabilizer that attaches to the landing legs.

Maybe someone will post a link.

  • http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/fastjack-stabilizer-kit/71258 I got this one.
  • Nobody agrees that the kingpin work very well. Some people say they work great and other people think they are a waste of space. I fall into the latter category. A lot depends on how tall and heavy your 5th wheel is too, a taller, longer 5th wheel will move around more than a lighter, shorter one.

My advice is to save your money and buy stabilizers like the JT Strongarm.
