Kitchen Island

They take up some, but if one loves to cook in their 5er, just more counter space.

So do I. More space = more clutter.

There is always the rear kitchen with the wrap around approach.

I know people who have them and used to have them. there is a love hate thing with them. I always said if the TT you look at jumps up and grabs you, then that is the one to get, other wise keep looking.

Some models have the island on casters, so it can be moved (or removed entirely) if you want more floor space.

Convenient, but just make sure you secure it when travelling.

Pros and cons to them. They do give more counter space. But you need to look at the floor plan they're in. Sometimes you won't be able to access the fridge or pantry with the slide in. Also if you have opposing slides and an island counter with sink then you could have egress problems when both slides are in.

For us out next 5er will have either an island with sink or a rear kitchen. JMO but you can't have too much counter space. We love to cook so counter space is a big requirement. We've had enough of the rear living units with short L shaped counters.

We've had three fifth wheels, two with islands and one with the "L" counter/cabinet config. We like the extra counter space the island provides. Walking around the island isn't an issue for us either. Islands work for us, maybe it doesn't for others. It's up to the owners, whatever works for ya.
