I have read on this forum, but can't find it now, how you use a drill and socket to raise and lower your landing gear in an emergency. Here's my problem. The shaft to turn on the 5er is round with a nub on it to catch the cut out slot on the handle so you can turn it.
Think old scissor jack handle and jack. No socket will fit. Is there another solution? Like the idea of using a drill.
If you have the manual crank specific to the landing legs on your FW, get a second one, cut it off and chuck it up in your drill. If you don't have one, buy TWO, cut one off and keep one intact for when the battery runs down on your drill so you can still crank it by hand. :-)
