It all depends on the gearing. Some goosenecks are a killer and my guess is your manual crank 5er is the same. The motor to turn the landing gear is not very big and most are super slow which tells me they have geared them way down to go a cheaper motor route. That means it probably doesn't take too much effort to turn the manual bypass in an emergency.
I have never done this on mine, guess I better try it and see just how much effort it takes
