Ok, thanks everyone for the good info so far. I'm going to pull the camper out of storage this weekend and start trying to figure out how to tackle this. I am seriously leaning toward removing the genny and enclosure to get to the other leg, but i'll look at it more this weekend. First step will be to pull the cap and figure out what kind of legs I have. I'll be sure to keep everyone posted and take pics as I go. That all brings me to another question.
What is the best way to support the trailer without using the landing gear?? I have some heavy duty jack stands, but they are too short to reach the frame rails AND I'm afraid their narrow saddle will bend the lower beam of the trailer. My camper has a very high ground clearance, so my jack wont reach it and I would still have to put something under the stands to get them high enough. I'm thinking cinder blocks on strong edge with wood on top to spread the load. If that works for mobile homes, it should hold this weight easily right?? I have 2200 lbs on the pin, put moving the supports closer to the axles will increase that weight a bit. I don't want to have to buy any fancy expensive stands, since hopefully these will only be used once!!!!
Side note, I also have a metal tripod stabilizer that says its rated at 5000 lbs. I'm going to use that to take some of the load, but **** sure not crawling around in and under the trailer without some additional support.
Best way to very safely support the trailer without the landing gear???
