Landing Gear

Just completed my second trip with our first 5th wheel. Got home and chocked the wheels. Started extending the landing gear and when weight was put on, the gear slowed to a crawl and then stopped just as the weight was coming off the king pin. Power cord was still hooked to the truck and the battery indicator showed full. Am I missing something simple?
  • I did get enough height on the gear to get the truck off of the 5th wheel...
  • Yes, truck was running. I will check the in-line fuse. Guessing that is not it as the gear slowed to a halt. The gear worked great up to this point. No bad gear sounds. Thanks for the tips....
  • No funny noises like a gear slipping? If not, and you're sure you have decent voltage (you do have the truck running don't you), I'd suspect an electric motor problem. You should have a crank handle and access to manually crank it up.
  • Blown in-line fuse on the pink wire to the landing jacks maybe?

Ours blows the fuse all the time if stalled or the stops are hit.
