Hi everyone
My driver side (street side) landing leg will not extend. I got the top off of the leg. The shaft from the motor is turning. Both bevel gears are turning. I'm guessing that the worm gear is stripped, or the nut, gear, whatever that the worm gear drives is stripped. Can't find much info on replacing worm gear. Lots on replacing gear box. This is on a '06 Cougar with Venture landing legs. The leg has not been stressed, so there should not be binding. It has been retracted fully, that is how we were told to do it in our PDI. I'm guessing I have learned a lesson.
Thanks

First off, you should almost never fully extend or retract your legs via the motor. The shear pins are weak enough, and the motor has enough torque, to do in the pins every time. Second, you're likely going to have to pull the entire leg to get to the parts you need to more easily. Not sure if it's not just easier to replace the entire leg than to fix the one you've got.
