Led light bulbs

I did the bulb replacement on a couple in my fiver and was not happy with the amount of light output. I found a complete fixture on Amazon and ordered a couple to see how much light output they had. I was totally surprised with the light output and replaced all my interior fixtures. Here is the description to search for on Amazon - 2 of Thin-Lite (DIST-LED312-1) Bright White Double Surface Mount LED Dome Light. I am totally satisfied with each one of them.

I would recommend the LED panels in 36 5050 leds at 10 for $18.40 or 48 10 for $22.26 in warm white.

I tried the 3 of the 36's but they were too dim for me.
Replace all with the 48'. They seem much brighter to me.

Pull out the old bulb pop in the new. I did not detect a polarity issue. DW was very happy. Have only used them 1 weekend (dry camping) but so far so good.

We like the color. Warm white. Bright or brighter then the incandescent ones I took out. (921's)

Replaced only inside bulbs, except over stove (too hot I thought), and the long fluorescent fixtures. The vanity ones were a different base. (1141's I think)

And I posted that I recently tried some 24 LED panels with the larger 5630 LEDs. They put out as much, if not more, light than the 921s they replaced. While they run cooler, you need to make sure you're really saving amps.

A 921 bulb draws 1.4A.

Each 5630 LED draws 150mA. So Twenty-four of the buggers pull about 1.8A, if my math is correct.

Picking a panel that uses 3528 or 5050 based LEDs can consume less amps but produce less light.

I like the 5630 based panels - they really light up the coach. But they're not saving me power.

Yes, LEDs run much cooler.

I have been running LEDs from LED Trailer Lights since 2009 and have been very happy with them.

Not sure how you would save $150 on 32 LEDs that cost less than $1 each ...the price is now down to $2 on panels. I agree with buying several different types before a bunch. My 34 ceiling halogens took 32 amps to run while the LED replacements require 4 amps.

LED bulbs will draw a lot less current, a big plus if you dry camp. They also will put out a lot less heat, making it eaiser to cool you rig. When replacing your old bulbs keep in mind LED's are dependant on potential, that is they must be installed + to + and negative to negative or they will not work. If your fixture is wired backwards, which sometimes happens you may think the LED is bad, so you will have to test the voltage source, and correct if it is wrong.

I checked my bulbs to see which ones, went on to Amazon and typed in led bulbs and you can get the part # cross over and order a box of 10 for $25 to $50 depending on which ones you have. if you are unsure, take a bulb to batteries plus and they can tell yo the cross over. check around for pricing as it varies a lot. i am happy camper without using lots of juice to light up the place! Some LED replacement lights have built-in voltage regulators that allows the LEDs to work over a wide DC VOLTAGE range. These type of LED assemblies are known to produce RFI signals that may interfere with your HDTV, WX RADIOs, and other units like HAM RADIO, Home Scanners, etc...

These are especially prone to RFI interference when using your OTA OUTSIDE ANTENNAs that have weaker signals.

What most folks will do is buy only one of the LEDs sets they want to see how it worked first before buying 34 of them... Might save you $150 buck or so...

You will also have to learn the difference in LAMP WATTs and LAMP LUMENS. The LED items are specified in LUMENS. 250 LUMENS is roughly the same brightness of a 40WATT LAMP. We liked the WARM WHITE Temperature type the best.

I ordered the cheap $4.99 LED BOARD from EBAY CHINA first then ended up ordering many in lots of ten after I found out they worked in my setup for even a better deal.


This cheap price gave me a chance to have several spare LED boards on hand which I have not used since getting them in 2010. I replaced the automotive type high current and very hot 1156 and 921 bulbs...

This was a hugh power savings for us when we want to camp off the batteries off the power grid. I think they say it is around 180% power savings over the automotive incandescent type bulbs.

I changed all the bulbs in my TT with LED....32 to be exact....bought them on ebay for about 40 bucks delivered. Much cooler and way less power consumption. I had both T10 and G4 bases
