Led light bulbs

Got a new to me 2003 Cardinal. Noticed that the interior light are extremely hot. I think it's the 12v lights. Found some 12v led bulbs. Anyone use these and are they cooler
  • my old 05 actually used 1156 tail light bulbs and they were stupid inefficient. You need to pull one out and see just what bulb it takes. Be aware though some automotive bulbs use a resistor in them and you won't really save anything. They do that so the blinkers function without an electronic assembly and the computer see's the same load as a normal bulb. Make sure you get LED's without the resistor if you are trying to save power

Yes Those are probably G4 Halogen bulbs in your RV.... they put out a lot of light and are pretty energy efficient but run very HOT. LED G4 replacements will not run hot at all and use dramatically less current than even the Halogen bulbs. Google, " LED G4 replacement ". Lots of choices.
