Tony, The advertised weights the manufactures put on the trailers are inaccurate at best, mine was 2,000 lbs over the sticker on the trailer. Most Manf don't include the weight of options, and who knows what else. If weight is a possible problem, you can have the trailer weighed at certified scales before you buy to be certain. Your concerns regarding wheelbase and the added weight of the bike are valid. As a rule, the shorter the wheelbase of the towing vehicle versus the trailer length, the greater the instability. Most of the time this instability will not show its ugly head until you need it the most, like pulling in the wind, winding or rough roads or making an evasive maneuver. The added weight of the motorcycle could cause a problem if it shifts enough weight off of the hitch and that would depend on the hitch weight of the trailer, axel placement etc.... Most of the time this weight can be offset by packing food, clothes and whatever else to achieve the right weight distribution.
