You are a brave man! Or has a wife that doesn't read the forums.
If I said that I'd wind up with a clean ladder and kill myself slipping off the waxed rungs next time I used it.... - cmcdarExplorerjohntank,
Thanks, that is why I'm pretty sure that I need the 12.5 foot ladder. the camper is a little over 8'and then you have to have to lean it against the camper and then extend above the camper roof. It is a lot of money!!!
I do have a small 14' aluminum extension ladder, that is about 7.5' when closed. I'm going to see if there is any way to make something to carry it under my camper.
As I have not picked up my camper yet this will be continued at a later date. - johntankExplorer

I'm going to get a telescoping ladder. I am just not sure if I should get a 10' or 12'. I want to be able to use it to get on the roof.
One needs to have a ladder to reach at lest 2 feet if not more above the surface one wants to get on to for safety. - rjsurferExplorerJust picked up a Werner light duty 16 foot extension ladder for $79 at Lowes Home Improvement to work on the resealing the gutter trim on my Cougar.
Perfect size ladder for that type of work and did I say it's light!
I'm now rethinking taking my step ladder on trips and take this extension ladder in its place. Just got to see if I'm can keep it attached easily to the rear ladder.
Perfect RV ladder.

This fellow obviously has not been married long enough to know when to keep his trap shut.:)
On the serious side, it is nice to have a DW who helps with the waxing. I have a boatwoman so she knows a thing or two about tools, bottom painting & waxing. - lap527Explorer

You are a brave man! Or has a wife that doesn't read the forums. - tvman44ExplorerI am a big fan of the "Little Giant" ladders and clones. I have a LG that is a 11' step ladder or a 22' extension ladder for use at home. I can do what ever I want on our 5er and it is rock solid. I also carry a Werner (LG clone) that is a 9' step or 18' extension strapped to the 5ers ladder. :) Works for me.
- C-BearsExplorerWhen we are on the road I keep a 10' aluminum step ladder fastened to the OEM fiver ladder. When at the "home base" and I want to wax I use an expandable 12'-16' aluminum plank between two fiberglass step ladders.
I use the OEM mounted ladder to get up on the roof.
