Level up system

Just got my 5th wheel with the 6 point level up system. We are having quite a bit of movement in the trailer. Is that normal? I would have thought that with 6 points, it would be pretty stable.
  • Stability seems to be directly related to how soft the ground is. If I level on hard ground, movement is minimal. On soft ground I've been placing 12" X 12" x 1 1/2 wood blocks under the hydraulic landing pads which helps reduce movement.
  • We place blocks under all of the jacks and it seems stable to us.
  • Our 2014 Keystone Alpine 3500RE has the six point leveling and is very stable and solid even walking around front bedroom. Is one or more of your jacks not fully extended and allowing play?? We can see the 5ver move when each jack loads up after ground contact. Hope this helps.
  • I can only report on what I've read from some owners on this forum as I don't have the system on my toyhauler.

I've always felt the way you do: the 6 point system should be solid as the proverbial rock. But I've read quite a few posts from people with the 4 point and 6 point level up systems that say they still get a fair amount of trailer motion from movement inside the trailer. Some have installed something like the JT Strongarms and Roto-Choks, or a 5th wheel tripod. But it does seem that a certain amount of movement is the norm, and it depends on the individual as to how much is too much.

I'll be watching this thread because I'm curious to see if old posts are borne out by new ones.
