I use 2X4s stacked up log cabin style with a 3/4" plywood piece on top as a base for my 4 ton jack stands.    Use 2 -6 ton bottle jacks under each axle tube where the springs are, to raise the trailer up. place the jackstands on the 2X4 stacks under the frame (one in front of the tires & one behind the tires) lower the trailer onto the jackstands.  Very secure and stable.
