If you look closely at the photos there is a plate and king pin below, whereas a goose neck would have a ball receiver. I think this is their version of a sidewinder style hitch minus the moving parts, more like an extended pin box.
I looked at the Open Ranges and was very impressed, however they were out of my price range, and size for size heavier that the KZ's Rockwood and others.
Unless they changed them, when we looked at them they had one on the lot that had a goose neck type adapter on it that was from the factory. The web site used to have a page discussing the feature as well. I can't find it any longer. Perhaps there was a problem and they dropped it. It was definitely a factory feature at that time though.
