Next time you are hooked up do a really good rinse. Close the gate and fill the tank with a good bit of water. Open and close the gate several times while the tank drains. I had this issue and it was just some toilet paper that got jammed in the end of the gate preventing it from closing all the way. I had to disassemble the gate to clean it out with a screwdriver. I could tell something was blocking the gate because the handle normally sets tight against the wall when closed. At that time it was stopping about 1/4 inch shy of the wall.
