While we are stationary at a CG, seldom a problem. If we travel, there is an occasional bit of water that comes out. My fix was a 5" clear extension left permanently in place so I don't get that surprise along with a 45* adapter. I also use a pair of disposable gloves. You can also buy an end cap with a hose connection and open that first - I also use that:
