And I do the gray to black backflush just like Dutchmen described (but without the flush king). Since I have a gray and a galley tank, I usually use the galley to backflush the black, then use the gray as normal to clean out my slinky. Works great in my opinion. I think I have only used my built-in tank flush system a handful of times. Never considered it critical or even important, so it only gets done when I have a notion and nothing better to do.
