I don't know yet how these locks work completely. I guess if you lock the top lock from the outside, you can still open the door from the inside, but then the door will still be locked from the outsid...

I never use the top door latch lock, only use the bottom dead bolt lock. With the dead bolt on you don't get in or out. I've been told that Dealers have a Master Key that will work with the door latch, but not for the dead bolt. So normally told when leaving for service that the door can be locked, but don't lock the dead bolt. Don't know if that's still true or not.
