Locked myself out... again....
I don't know yet how these locks work completely. I guess if you lock the top lock from the outside, you can still open the door from the inside, but then the door will still be locked from the outsid...

I never lock the handle lock, only the dead bolt. That won't necessary keep you from getting locked out or in. I went to take the pup out for his last leg lift the little red switch for the dead bolt felt loose when I flipped it to the unlock the door. Pulled the the handle and nothing happened. To make a long story short, I told the pup to hold it and went and found a screw driver to remove the inside cover. Two internal screws had loosen, one compleatly out the other just holding on by a few threads. The little rod that moves the bead bolt and attaches to the lock mechanism and the little red inside switch had disconnected. Put it back together and the pup sighed relief as we went for his nightly walk.
