I would be well within the weight limits of a 3500 Srw, but trying to figure out if I'm missing something.
Long beds are really great at holding 8ft sheets of plywood and letting you close the tailgate.
I went from a 6ft Styleside (car as one poster put it) F150 to an 8Ft bed f350. The 6 ft bed was fine. Maybe I just don't haul as much junk. It's all good but my next truck will be a short bed. I have no need for a long bed truck.
Now if I had a business or was hauling extra gas tanks or something like that, then maybe. Most new fivers have cut outs in the corners that a lot of users don't even use their sliders any more.
For an everyday driver give me a 6ft bed.
