Hi All,According to SWMBO we're going to step up to a fifth wheel this coming spring. I went the camper route with current rig three years ago and I thought we'd be using it with my fishing buddies, we've only used it once.We're ok buying used and we've checked out several rigs but two things we noticed in several designs, the kitchens are about the same size and footprint as the one we have in our AC 1150 and you have to watch TV from the back through the dinette and kitchen.To those that have a rear kitchen, please let us know what year and model you have, around the 2000-2008 models there are several so if you have one please let me know the year and model.Thanks for your participation and smooth roads to you all!

We chose a rear kitchen model because my DW is a gourmet cook and the rear kitchen provided more counter space plus cabinets for all her cooking stuff.In the first several trips we had some breakage but since we came up with the right combination of padding and storage no more damage from the rear bounce.Ours is a 1994 so it falls outside your dates but the manufacturer built models into the 2000s until they went out of business. Alfa Leisure made models that went by the names Alfa Gold, See-Ya (ours) and Ideal. Model numbers will show RK (rear kitchen). We've been very happy with ours and every time we think about replacing it, we can't find anything that we like better.

We have a 2011 Arctic Fox 27-5L which has the rear kitchen. Before we bought it, my wife didn't like the idea of a rear kitchen. But after owning it, she loves it. Lots of cabinets and counter space. But you do lose the rear picture window. One feature I like about our AF is that you can get to the fridge, sink, bathroom and bedroom with both slides in.

Ours is a Keystone Challenger 32TPK in the model year 2005. My wife loves the rear kitchen, we have not found one we would trade it in for. So much counter space and cabinet space for storage. If we bought a new one right now we would have to start looking at rear kitchens first. Enjoy your search, they are out there!

RK's do take space from living area, but so much more counter space and work room. We spend so much time outside living rather than inside. Even in Winter, here in Texas, we are outdoors except for rainy or really windy days.Now we Rv with another couple and they wish they made RV's without kitchens whatsoever!

We had a Keystone Montana 3295RK. We really liked the living room layout as well (entertainment center across from the sofa). It also had a lot of interior storage space.

Depends on what you prefer. Personally I would not have a rear kitchen. I like to look out my rear picture window and see the woods.

2007 Keystone Challenger 29RKP. Really like the rear kitchen and the large picture window mid-ship.

That is not always true, some times another trailer.
We have large windows in the living space and kitchen.
That an DW loves the space to cook!

I had a 2003 Montana fifthave wheel, rear kitchen. Loved it. Believe the model was 27RK.

When the slide came in, it closed off the microwave, but that was not an issue, since no generator. Some rear kichens I have seen, the slide, when in, shuts off refrigerator access. Not good for lunch breaks.
