I really would not put Cardinal and Vilano in the same group as the others listed. It also depends on how old you want to consider. Going back a few years and some really great 5ers, look at Hitchhiker Champagne, Excel, Teton, King of the Road, Carriage, and Newmar 5ers.
We have had both class A and 5ers and for full time living, the 5er will serve you better, especially if you spend weeks in one area. A really big advantage to the 5er is if you have powertrain issues, you still have a place to live while the truck is in the shop. With a motorhome, the house goes in the shop as well. Also, with a typical Ford, Ram, or Chevy, you can get them services pretty much anywhere and the cost of service is much less than a diesel pusher class A.
