I like the Pace Edwards that I had as well. It isn't an advantage for a TC, but I could see it as a great option for a fifth wheel since it only takes up a few inches of the bed. It is a bit harder to put on that a try fold the first time. After than, you never take it off.
Why do you say that they need to be removed when towing...never take mine off when towing and have never had an issue. Sticks up about 3-4 inches on front 1/3 of bed when folded but never has hit camper front.
